100 posts into our gay brother.

SAN FRANCISCO, USA – Two months after its first post SugarPit, Sam Sugar’s gay/bi porn blog is this week simultaneously celebrating leaving ‘beta’ status, its hundredth post and its first major promotional deal. The blog, which takes a humorous look at all that’s not strictly heterosexual, has quickly built a cult following around capitalization-eschewing editor zero kaneda’s vibrant humor and insider knowledge of the gay porn market.
“Penis is an undervalued sales tool,” said Sugar, “With a tendency to be young, style conscious and having a higher than average income, penis-appreciators are the perfect demographic.”
SugarPit also announced its first major promotional partnership, an exclusive month-long deal in support of sexually-charged new Australian novel ‘Zanesville’, recipient of a coveted starred review from Booklist.
“Sex blogs aren’t the normal first thought of publishers looking for readers but SugarPit is abnormal in a number of remarkable ways. A combination of sex-news, humor and great-writing has managed to attract a pan-sexual group of readers during the beta period, it’s a self-selecting audience companies recognize has real value,” said Sugar. “We expect SugarPit’s ability to drive hard into traditionally tight markets to increase over time. With this initial thrust we’ve surprised a lot of people. Continued momentum, a hands-on approach and steady growth will doubtless climax in an explosion of new opportunities.”
SugarPit is edited by zero kaneda and publishes online daily at SugarPit.com

Another day, another redesign.
March 23rd, 2006 by Sam Sugar | Last modified: June 29th, 2007
You might be thinking ‘Does SugarBank look different today?’ or ‘Does having herpes make Paris Hilton less attractive or is a sexually transmitted virus actually the most interesting thing about her?’ The answer is yes. I am in the middle of a record attempt for ‘Most re-designs within any one twelve month period’ and this is SugarBank 4.0. What the hell am I doing?
I’m learning.
Part of what makes talking to me valuable (aside from the bottomless wisdom and welcoming charm) is that I obsess over how things work and how they might be improved. I like to think that if this blog was a car it would be a Porsche 911 circa 1966 – already great but still ready to undergo 40 years of continual improvement. On the other hand it might just have been commissioned by a Nazi and have a reputation for killing Dentists.
This rev’ includes the addition of globally recognized avatars, gravatars – the little pictures you see beside people’s comments, improved searching and most importantly an easier to read layout. It’s less brutally functional than 3.0 but less visually cluttered to look at. I hope you like it. If you don’t… would you like a cookie?
I always get questions after making changes so here are some answers:
- There are no rounded-corners because they’re a cliché. You can date most technological things because as soon as something can be done, it’s overdone. See any music video, translucent iMac or action movie for proof. I don’t need rounded corners. WHY DON’T YOU LEAVE ME ALONE. I WISH YOU WEREN’T MY PARENTS. I HATE YOU!
- Yeah I know Impact’s verboten in fontography circles. That’s how I roll.
- The text’s actually dark grey.
- Most famous? About a year ago and let’s just say she was in the best movie of 2004, the worst of 2005 and made her debut when she was still jail-pedo-bait. We’re friends now.
- It’s my tagline – I do what I like with it.
- Yes Podnography’s coming back.
- By hit and miss I have developed a method where I can precipitate a soluble tartrate from morphine granules in the form of kaolin morphine purchased at sundry pharmicists.
- Yes PSP Porn will be updated again soon.
- It’s a hard question but I’d have to say ‘Snakes on a Plane’ – I’m really looking forward to that movie.
(SugarPit and SugarJoy have also changed today – check them out they’re… full of stars!)

Are you gay? I need to know so here’s a quick test;
Question 1 – In the gym:
A – You’ll join any aerobics class that plays Madonna.
B – You’re known for being ‘ready for a wrestle’ after a shower.
C – You look better than 90% of the other guys in there.
Question 2 – At work:
A – You will slap anyone who gets in your face.
B – You ensure co-workers can get an ‘assist’ anytime they need to.
C – Your female colleagues take you out for lunch on your birthday.
Question 3 – At home:
A – You have given pride of place to a collection of ceramic dogs.
B – You ignore ‘that fat breeder bitch’ who’s paid to act as if she’s in love with you.
C – You don’t have a tiny trashcan beside the toilet.
Mostly A’s – You are a stereotype.
Mostly B’s - You are Tom Cruise.
Mostly C’s - You might be gay.
If you answered B’s or C’s, SugarPit needs you.
zero (small ‘z’, huge sport-ute) wants ‘the Pit’ to cover the gay sex scene with the comprehensive efficiency of Chi Chi LaRue at a free lunch buffet. If you think you might have the writing chops, enthusiasm and wit to help – email him.

We're going gay.

I’m proud, relieved and slightly aroused to announce the launch of SugarPit, a new sex blog aimed at gay, bisexual and other man-appreciators of all persuasions.
Edited by zero kaneda (small ‘z’, tiny ‘k’), an adult movie biz insider, SugarPit’s as smart, funny and pleasant to spend time with as the man himself (or you’re fired zero. Just kidding but then again, I’m not – that’ll teach you to talk about my lack of facial hair…). Zero’s unique position within the adult industry, bisexual outlook and boy-band good looks (he’d be the ‘arty’ one) put him in a position to see and feel things others don’t. His writing makes SugarPit worth keeping up with whatever your persuasion.
(NB: If you’re a blogger who writes about, or links to, SugarPit between now and the 31st, leave a note with a link in the comments and I’ll include you in the ‘Thank you friends of SugarPit’ post I’ll place across all my blogs (and SugarPit of course) this time next week. It’ll have a picture of a cute animal or something I swear.)
