All - Thank you.

Things I've learned.

1) Start podcasting again.
2) Keep calm and carry on.

Podnography died on the altar of my own perfectionism. I do know how to bring it back but it's proven hard to find the time to actually effect change. Given all the encouragement I think I have to. The key to doing it will be cutting the amount of time it takes to put together. A lot of time was 'wasted' writing scripts which then made me seem far more stupid/mechanical/creepy than I like to think I am. Avoiding that means having someone to talk to, which means a co-host.

My 'ideal' co-host is in the industry and as unlike me as possible (i.e. female and charming). Rather than try to 'strike gold' I might just start a limited season of shows with a roster of co-hosts and see who clicks.

Anyway - this is not a priority again.

Content wise I've been leaning on the easy targets as my life has become more complicated (you ain't seen nothing yet...) I do try to stay fresh - and don't read a lot of sex-blogs for that reason. Those I do look at I generally use to filter content so I can avoid being last to the party. The industry stuff is a strength though and - if you're not bored by it - I'll amp it up again.

Thanks for the feedback. You're beautiful.

I liked categories 2 and 3 best… nothing against sex but the latter categories are harder to find well written, interesting posts on. For a while there I was starting to think that you'd jobbed out the writing since the tone had changed dramatically.

Really there's no reason not to post on all the above without splitting the blog up. Focus and microniching is overrated actually. You can get away with being all over the map so long as you go back to the same countries now an then for an update.

And yeah, Podnography was great. Bring it back.

#1 PODNOGRAPHY, please. Seriously please.

Secondly I think you are at your most brilliant when you talk about marketing, both how it applies to the adult industry and how it doesn't. Then add in a fair sized dash of insights to the adult industry, and that makes ME a happy man.

I second the call for Podnography coming back. There's a small handful of great shows that podfaded and Podnography was one of them.

When I visit SugarBank I never know what I'm going to get and that's part of the charm. I'm definitely in the #2 category and agree that #3 is a subset of #2. But I say keep doing all three. I don't think there's a need to split the blog. I like the mix up. It keeps things fresh and interesting.

Although I would like some more of your twisted porn comics. Those were hilarious.

I agree with the folks above. Personally I particularly liked #2 and #3, but I don't think there's a need for a major change, or a separate site or anything. Nice work overall, I'm still a big fan :)

From my perspective, there's no need to split it up or introduce categories. I think Sugarbank can easily handle all three topics and your readership gets the benefit of your unique and entertaining perspective on whatever you blog about . That's the main reason I keep coming back. That and the boobies.

I don't think you need to split blogs. Nothing wrong with posting on #1's general sex-related topics and remains encouraged. Tho I have always found #2, smut as a business, endlessly fascinating. There are nifty tidbits gleamed from #3, focusing on that topic would seem to hedge your audience eventually.

I'm in groups 1 and 2. I miss your insights with regard to group 2, and think you should bring some of that back without splitting the blog up. Hell, bring back more of the blogging/marketing stuff - even if it didn't affect me, it usually made for an interesting read.

While I'm not averse to the odd link (with pictures), the reason you're in my feed reader is because of #2.

Your post Why Porn’s Already Decided the Next Generation Video Format is an especially good example of this as, I felt, it showed the kind of insight I find in books like Freakonomics.

When I first started reading Sugarbank, it was definitely because of #2. You're right, there are a LOT of blogs out there that just cover sex in general, but yours gave insight to a different part of the game, and it was fascinating. I'm not even in the adult industry - well, not quite - but I kept coming back for the dirt. Well, that and that sexy wit. ;)

I've also really enjoyed and benefited from the posts that fall into category #3 because, as the mistress of my own adult site, those things interest me. I think, however, that Trekkie is right that it is kind of a subset of #2.

So there you have it, another $.02. Hey, you're up to $.06 now!
