The first, and presumably last, free edition of AVN Online is now online… er… now.
AVN Online Magazine Digital Edition
If you’ve not seen AVN’s web-focused sister publication it’s a similar mix of press-releases, advertising and feature articles. It’s the best snapshot of the adult industry online but be prepared for writing which ranges from the sublime to the sub-par. For another salvo in the extreme porn debate be sure to check out the cover article on page 86 and if you’re running affiliate ads on your site, page 110’s ‘Playing in Traffic’ is worth reading despite a very limited range of participant programs.
(To all those at AVN - please consider digital only subscriptions. I used to get the print copy free in the US, so why can’t industry types get the digital edition free overseas? Back issues would be nice too. If not for everyone how about me? I’m special.)
I have a subscription to Video Business and Home Media Retailing. Both publications offer digital downloads to subscribers, the catch you can’t have both.
For me I’d like to receive the magazine to hold and read when I’m not with my laptop, but when I am - I like the digital version. My problem and I’m guessing since I haven’t tried. Is that it will want me to decide how I will receive future issues: one or the other, not both. Just friggin’ grand.
JohnIan - I like digital print, but still envisage a better format which has the glamour of print, but is designed with screen widths in mind for easy reading. I miss access to magazines a lot when I travel. Even when available they’re often $15 a copy overseas and a month or two out of date. Right now I’ll compromize a lot just to get access.
