Some thing’s are too long for me to digest and regurgitate here, and others so brilliant I could only make them worse in translation. Here follows a list of recent stuff like that, relevant to sex bloggers/site owners, with links so you can check them out for yourself.

  • A Beginners Guide to SEO – Explodes some of the myths about Search Engine Optimization and provides information on how search engines ‘think’. Got a blog? Use this stuff to help the big engines find it.
  • Flipping the Funnel – A guide to help turn customers, reader or fans into evangelists. Practical advice on (cash) free marketing, formatted so you can easily apply it. Got a blog? This explains how to use it.
  • Sexual Averages – Facts to celebrate, or fear, which put the exaggerations on porn in perspective (and I’ll add that 12.5 inch John Holmes was actually ‘only’ ten.)
  • The New Rules of PR – A guide to using press-releases to market directly to the public, cutting out the press entirely if you want. Got a blog? The summary on page 6 tells you how to use releases to help people find it.
  • Dermaphoria – My friend Craig Clevenger’s second novel, another trip through horror, beauty and great writing. Got a blog? I’ll send you a free copy of his first novel, The Contortionist’s Handbook if you ask me.

There will be a quiz…

I also recommend ANYTHING by Guy Kawasaki. He is the first Mac Evangelist and his writing is informative, thought provoking and entertaining. An excellent resource for anyone trying to sell their product, no matter what the market.

Seconded on Kawasaki. Rules for Revolutionaries completely changed my thinking about marketing, and predated the ground-up blogcentric marketing associated with so-called “Web 2.0″ companies by a decade.

Be sure to read Guy’s blog if you have a chance. http://www.guykawasaki.com. I wold add the book “Naked Conversations: How Blogs Are Changing the Way Businesses Talk with Customers” to the list.

The sex figures are interesting, but they’ve omitted the average length of the oral cavity proper, at 3 – 3.5 inches. So coupled with the erect penis being longer, it’s a wonder how ‘deep throat’ is always a favorite subject in the land of x rated film and magazines. This has always been one of those mystery questions for me, whether or not it’s pure conspiracy because it’s not that simple to override a biologically inbuilt gag reflex unless starlets have their glossopharyngeal nerve severed.

Anastasia – you’re not going to think I’m gay if I tell you how deep-throat is done are you? Think sword-swallowing. It’s all about making a straight path down the throat. You can’t do it in any position, but if your head, neck and body are aligned correctly, it’s not too big a deal.

Most pornsters say it’s about an afternoon’s work to teach. Positioning is key because, as you point out, the mouth’s not large enough and the penis has to enter the throat. I’m told the gag reflex is way milder when it’s not being triggered by something actually hitting that valve.

Sam – You’re dead right. Sounds like you’ve been practicing.

Anastasia – Sometimes it looks (or feels, to the recipient) like it’s going in a lot farther than it actually is. But yeah, basically it’s about tilting your head and neck and making sure they move with you and not against you (if at all).

Okay, it’s way too late/early. That last line was not intended to in any way suggest necrophilia…

Anastacia – It’s not as hard as you might think to overcome your gag reflex; it becomes easier surprisingly quickly :P

I don’t know about that, believe me I’ve tried (lol) many many many times by trying different positions, by telling myself not to gag even, and geez I popped my cherry at 17, now 34 (and many suitors in between this time) and yeah…
But I do admit, it’s easier to get in a bit deeper, well not Linda Lovelace style, if I take my god awful time with the blowjob at hand.
But yep I’ll check the link out.
