The 2006 Bloggies are now accepting nominations. Though anything that highlights great blogs is valuable, can the Bloggies really claim to represent the ‘best’, when only the blogs which receive the most votes make the shortlist?

What about best podcast of a weblog? I hate the fact that they have neglected video-podcasts…

Ms. Kitka- Your video has audio, so I figured it was close enough considering that there was no video podcast category. Hopefully other Kitkast viewers voting will be of the same mind.

Sam- I just got a reply from the administrator of the 2006 Bloggies… video podcasts do not count. He said he didn’t want to confuse people who have already started nominating. He says he’ll make the change for next year.
You know what I think, though? Too little too late… blogs were big last year, then came audio-podcasts and now video-podcasts are all the rage. What will be the fad next year? By that time will vlogs still be the cutting edge?
Who knows…
Thanks for sharing your discovery Ms. Kitka. It’s not very ‘hip’ that they’ve not been more open to new(ish) technology. I think that awards could be done a lot better than this…
